After over a year and a half away, we finally have a return date for Brandon Rios and it is only a couple weeks away. The former lightweight titlist will return in Lancaster, California against gate keeper Aaron Herrera on a Sunday night edition of PBC on FS1.

Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (33-3-1, 24 KOs) was one of the brightest young stars in all of boxing following his 2012 fight of the year stoppage win over Mike Alvarado, but the time since has not been as kind to the Oxnard based fighter. He is 2-3 since then having lost the rematch to Alvarado, by stoppage to historically light punching Timothy Bradley, and in between having been dominated by Manny Pacquiao. One of his two wins was by DQ and the other was a trilogy bout with Alvarado in which his opponent didn’t show up in an condition to win.
Needless to say, Rios needs a good showing at this point. Aaron Herrera (32-6-1, 21 KOs), having lost wide to every top fighter he has faced, should be able to provide it.
Also featured on the card will be unbeaten PBC junior welterweight prospects Mario Barrios (18-0, 10 KOs) and Jose Miguel Borrego (12-0, 11 KOs) in separate bouts against Jose Luis Rodriguez (21-9, 12 KOs) and local fighter Kevin Watts (11-1, 4 KOs) respectively.
