Given that ShoBox is a prospect series, having two top prospects fighting one another in the main event is a best case scenario for the series when it is operating within its mission statement. The two fighters are also a combined 4-0 previously on ShoBox itself. New Orleans born Regis Prograis (19-0, 16 KOs) in particular is a very hyped prospect having been featured on many prospects to watch lists while Joel Diaz Jr (23-0, 19 KOs) is trained by top trainer Abel Sanchez.

In the co-feature recent ShoBox winner Steve Rolls (15-0, 9 KOs) of Toronto returns against power punching Desmond Nicholson (17-1-1, 16 KOs) at middleweight. Nicholson is coming off a draw against since surging prospect Immanuel Aleem and this figures to be another great prospect matchup for the card. Spanish junior lightweight Jon Fernandez (12-0, 10 KOs) will make his second appearance on ShoBox in the opener against an opponent yet to be determined.

Evander Holyfield and Marco Antonio Barrera will be inducted into the boxing Hall of Fame just a town or two over the following day.
