Tuesdays in the boxing world mean PBC on FS1 time. This edition of Toe-to-Toe Tuesday brought back top PBC junior welterweight prospect Eddie Ramirez who earned with a somewhat confusing split decision win against the always tough Erick Bone.

Eddie Ramirez (17-0, 11 KOs) won this fight against Erick Bone (16-5, 8 KOs) clearly, split decision or not. I scored it 97-93 for him like two of the official judges. If anything, I was a little generous with Bone with that score too. This is why we have three judges, however, and thankfully the right man did get the nod in the end.
This is a really impressive win for Ramirez as he had a much easier time with Ramirez than either Chris Algieri or Miguel Vasquez did. Bone wasn’t completely outclassed here though. He was there and landing well throughout the fight, but Ramirez was getting the better of almost every exchange and round when it finished playing out. Neither fighter was ever badly hurt in the contest, but Ramirez consistently landed the bigger shots on his Ecuadorian opponent.
19 year old featherweight Xavier Martinez (8-0, 4 KOs) stayed undefeated with a dominant eight round win over also previously undefeated Prince Smalls (11-1-1, 4 KOs) in the second fight of the card. Martinez looked great here, though the commentary hype about his power seems odd with only a 50% KO rate. This fight was never competitive, but it really turned into a beating over the last two rounds. Jay Nady let it go to the finish, however. Martinez is someone to watch.
In the opener, Dennis Galarza (16-2, 9 KOs) scored a very difficult ten round decision over an extremely game Omar Tienda (18-5-1, 11 KOs). Tienda was extremely aggressive and made the fight both dirty and entertaining along the way. I thought Galarza only narrowly edged the bout, but the scores came back wide for him instead.
