Less than a month out, we finally have an undercard fight for the big Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor show on August 26th. We need not only to fill out the normal PPV undercard, but the bill is also set to have two fights broadcast on FOX before the PPV even begins. Now we know one of those as top welterweight Shawn Porter is set to take what is essentially a stay busy fight against Puerto Rican former prospect Thomas Dulorme on FOX.

In 2012, Thomas Dulorme (24-2, 16 KOs) was a highly touted Puerto Rican prospect. His status as a prospect came crashing down that year, however, as he was knocked out in his HBO debut against the much less heralded Argentinian Luis Carlos Abregu. Dulorme picked up his second loss via 6th round TKO when Terence Crawford chose to use him as his opponent for his initial move up to junior welterweight in 2015. The former Puerto Rican prospect is not a bad fighter by any means though. He does have wins over good fighters like Karim Mayfield and Hank Lundy. He just isn’t quite good enough to give an elite fighter like Shawn Porter any real trouble, especially given the style matchup.
Shawn Porter (27-2-1, 17 KOs) is a much more known fighter these days. His credentials are clear. Porter’s two losses came against Kell Brook and Keith Thurman in competitive fights and he holds wins over really good fighters like Devon Alexander, Paulie Malignaggi, Adrien Broner, and Andre Berto. Activity has been an issue for the former world champion, however, as he only fought once in 2016. He wants to fight, but given potentially lucrative big fights with Danny Garcia or a rematch with Keith Thurman on the horizon, his team doesn’t want too much of a risk here. Dulorme fits the bill.
The fight will be August 26th on the FOX broadcast portion of the mega show headlined by Floyd Mayweather Jr against Conor McGregor.
