In a predictably dreadful fight, Billy Joe Saunders successfully defended his WBO belt over Willie Monroe over 12 rounds. There isn’t much more to say about this one.

This wasn’t an all time terrible fight, but it also wasn’t a very good one. Billy Joe Saunders (25-0, 12 KOs) did push a bit in the last third of the fight to increase the action. It isn’t in his nature, however, nor in Willie Monroe’s (21-3, 6 KOs). Really this was just always going to be a poor style matchup.
Monroe tried to counter, I guess. He also had a pretty good jab at times. He couldn’t really land anything other than those jabs though while Saunders would get in one good combination a round. That was basically it every round. I don’t want to talk about this one anymore.
Anthony Yarde and Daniel DuBois overwhelmed. well, overwhelmed competition on the undercard.
