When rumors for both a FOX card featuring Leo Santa Cruz and Abner Mares in separate bouts and a Showtime junior middleweight triple header headlined by Jermell Charlo versus Erickson Lubin were swirling at the same time for October 14th, I figured one would be moved off the date given that they are both PBC cards. I was wrong. Indeed, both will take place on October 14th.

The junior middleweight card will air at 10 PM on Showtime and feature three title fights in the division. In the main event, Jermell Charlo (29-0, 14 KOs) defends against Erickson Lubin (18-0, 13 KOs) while Jarrett Hurd (20-0, 14 KOs) and Erislandy Lara (24-2-2, 14 KOs) do the same against Austin Trout (30-3, 17 KOs) and Terrell Gausha (20-0, 9 KOs) respectively.
Prior to that at 7:30 PM Eastern on FOX, Leo Santa Cruz (33-1-1, 18 KOs) and Abner Mares (30-2-1, 15 KOs) will fight Chris Avalos (27-5, 20 KOs) and Andres Gutierrez (35-1-1, 25 KOs) in order to set up a fight against one another early next year.
