In good news for fight fans, HBO has extended their contract with lead commentator Jim Lampley. The man and his voice have been synonymous with the top of the sport for almost thirty years now and he has shown no signs of slipping.

Jim Lampley will continue to call the fights on all three of HBO’s fight series, Boxing After Dark, World Championship Boxing, and HBO PPV as he has in some form since 1988. In addition, his The Fight Game with Jim Lampley will continue as well. HBO did not state the length of his extension in their press release.
At 68, it is reasonable to wonder how long the veteran will stay in the game. He has had an epic career covering everything from over thirty years of the Olympics, college football, golf, and more in addition to the boxing work we all know him for. When Jim does decide to step down eventually, the fight world will not be the same.
